Swami Vivekananda Culture Centre, Indian Embassy Tehran organises the lecture

‘Swami Vivekananda: A Perennial Philosopher’

at its premises on 24th January 2024.

The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Hojjatolah Javani, Associate Professor, Theology (Religions and Mysticism), Al-Zahra University, Tehran. Dr. Javani, Ph.D., Religions and Mysticism, Aligarh Muslim University, has been teaching at Al-Zahra University, Tehran for 22 years. He has translated books on Hinduism and Mahatma Gandhi into Persian. His last book, ‘Religion Today’, is a translation of collected essays written by Swami Vivekananda and other contemporary Hindu thinkers.

Swami Vivekananda is one of the most important philosophical figures of India in recent centuries. He has a dynamic and creative thought. In his philosophical endeavors, he tried to instill a new spirit into Hinduism and bring it from the theoretical sphere to the forefront of social life of India and Hindus. Swami Vivekananda tried to make use of spiritual elements and religious and spiritual experiences to introduce a modern narrative of an ancient religion.
